4 LUCKY RACER board members joined forces with Special Olympics and Perfect North Slopes to put on a 2 day race camp for 4 Special Olympics Athletes representing Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio who are members of TEAM USA heading to Turin Italy to compete in the Special Olympics World Games March 8-15th. It was a really fun two days of Slalom, GS and Super G training and the athletes learned a lot and left feeling ready for their big adventure!

We wanted to take a moment to reach out and tell you what we have been up to. With the support of the Lucky Racer Scholarship, the Lucky Racer Board, and the coaches who have volunteered time and expertise we have begun racing USSA to see if Sierra had a path forward there. To that ends we joined the Central Division and proceeded to race at Nubs Nob in Central and Snowshoe in SARA.

The format was 2 combined times in GS and 2 in Slalom with Sierra racing exclusively other U12 Females. In the GS her times found her 3rd of 16 and in slalom she was astounded to place 1st of 15.
Kris and Rich, This is just our letter of thanks to you guys for helping us chase this dream.
Thanks again,
The Hanley’s
